JLL has appointed Paul Morgan chief operating officer, effective immediately, adding the newly created position to its Global Executive Board. Morgan will report directly to President and CEO Christian Ulbrich and help lead the company’s Accelerate 2030 strategy. The role will bring JLL’s enterprise-wide operational expertise into a single global operations function. Morgan joined JLL in 2016 after 18 years with Johnson Controls.
A Unified Operations Function
The appointment is tied to one of the six imperatives in Accelerate 2030, “Unlock Platform Excellence,” which centers on the capabilities, processes and technology intended to support consistent delivery at scale. JLL said the global operations function will centralize operational expertise across the organization.
Christian Ulbrich, President and CEO at JLL, said:
“This appointment builds on the success we've had unifying our business lines and corporate functions over recent years, which has enabled us to drive stronger financial performance at the top- and bottom-line. Paul is an exceptional leader with a proven track record for making large, complex organizations run more efficiently. The whole GEB joins me in congratulating Paul on this appointment, and we look forward to working with him as we continue to unlock the collective excellence of JLL.”
Morgan’s Leadership Background
Morgan previously served as chief operating officer of Real Estate Management Services at JLL, where he led building lifecycle solutions to maximize client returns on real estate investments. He also served as global CEO of Workplace Management, encompassing more than 53,000 professionals in 80 countries delivering facilities management services to Fortune 500 companies and organizations worldwide.
His leadership experience spans account management, sales and business development, service execution and strategic planning. Before joining JLL, Morgan held executive leadership positions in sales, strategy, account management and operations at Johnson Controls.
Paul Morgan, Chief Operating Officer at JLL, said:
“We have world-class teams and business lines at JLL and connecting their operations will help us deliver our ambition to harness the full power of our platform. Simply put, we want the right work being done by the right people at the right time, so our teams can focus on driving superior client outcomes. I'm excited to take on this newly created position and bring together our operations teams as we execute on Accelerate 2030.”
Accelerate 2030 Execution
JLL said the consolidated operations team is intended to simplify how work gets done while increasing consistency and speed. The company described the function as a standardized foundation for the day-to-day execution of Accelerate 2030, which is designed to advance JLL’s core leadership position, bring its full capabilities to client engagements and operate on a unified, technology-enabled platform.
