About The Manhattan Business Review
The Manhattan Business Review is for the people who own and run New York's small and mid-sized companies. These are the firms that sign leases, hire, build, sell and borrow here, and the people who advise them.
Why the Review exists
New York has always been a city of small businesses as much as big ones. The towers get the headlines; the family firm in Queens, the agency in Flatiron and the practice on Court Street make the payroll. The Review exists for them.
Our readers have a lease to renew, a payroll to meet and a market to read. They want to know what is happening to companies like theirs: who is opening, hiring, buying and building. They want to understand what offices and shops cost, how the city's economy is moving, and which decisions in Albany and Washington will reach them. We think the city's smaller companies are its real business community.
Who reads it
Owners, founders and managing partners; the people who keep the books and run the office; the brokers, lenders, accountants and lawyers whose clients are those companies. There are also the New Yorkers thinking about starting one. They are across the five boroughs and the wider region, and further afield when their business reaches that far.
Perspectives is where business owners, advisors and other New Yorkers who know their trade make their case in their own words.
