United has added TBS to its live streaming lineup from DISH, giving passengers access to nearly every MLB postseason game on select flights. The service is available on more than 200 aircraft, covering about 900 flights each day. It includes the ALCS, NLCS and World Series for travelers using Starlink-enabled seatback screens. Since the live television feature launched last month, passengers have watched more than 170,000 hours of programming.

Live Sports At Altitude

The DISH lineup also includes ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2, NFL Network and TNF on Prime Video. In September, more than 5.4 million people, about one-third of United’s customers, flew with Starlink connectivity. United reported that satisfaction scores on Starlink-equipped planes were more than 40 points higher than on aircraft with other Wi-Fi services.

Andrew Nocella, Chief Commercial Officer at United, said:

“The speed and reliability of Starlink's inflight Wi-Fi is unmatched, which means sports fans can book United flights with confidence knowing they won't miss a play on flights with Starlink-enabled seatback screens.”

Expanding The Seatback Experience

Starlink is free for MileagePlus members in every class of service, and United expects to complete installations in 2027. The airline also expects up to 1,000 aircraft to have seatback screens before the end of 2027. Its new aircraft include 27-inch, 4K OLED seatback screens, while passengers can access more than 2,500 hours of entertainment from Apple TV, HBO Max, A24 and Spotify.

United previously partnered with ESPN on a live Fantasy Football Draft broadcast from 30,000 feet. Earlier this summer, customers could also stream the biggest soccer tournament in the world on Starlink-powered domestic flights.

A Reason To Choose United

United is also offering a status match offer for Delta and American Airlines loyalty program members. Customers who meet the spend requirement on United flights purchased and flown within 90 days can receive United Premier status benefits through January 31, 2028.
