PMI U.S. Selects Five Artists for ZYN Art Series
ZYN America250 Art Series selects five artists to create limited-edition metal collectible cases for a fall 2026 release.

PMI U.S. has selected five artists for its ZYN America250 Art Series, commissioning work that will be adapted into limited-edition metal ZYN cases tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary. The cohort includes New York City sculptor and painter Cordy Ryman, Brooklyn artist Bisco Smith, Los Angeles artist Dan Levenson, fiber artist Ray Materson, and photographer Laurie Simmons. Chosen from an initial shortlist of 20 emerging and established talents, the artists work across painting, sculpture, photography, embroidery, and street art. The empty collectible cases will debut for ZYN Rewards members before becoming available through ecommerce and select retailers in fall 2026.
Five Views of Modern Americana
The series brings together artists whose practices reflect distinct strands of American creative expression. Ryman’s work with reclaimed materials has been exhibited at MoMA PS1 and is held in collections including the Rubell Family Collection and Microsoft Art Collection.
Smith combines music, graffiti, and visual art through a freestyle, “calligraffiti”-inspired style. Levenson’s art-school-inspired multidisciplinary work addresses education and artistic freedom, while Materson creates detailed miniature embroideries that began during his incarceration. Simmons has staged psychologically charged photographic scenes since the mid-1970s and is represented in permanent collections worldwide.
Materson’s work is held by the American Folk Art Museum and the American Visionary Art Museum.
Collectible Case Designs
Each artist will contribute a design for a limited-edition metal ZYN case. The cases will contain no product and are intended as collectible accessories. PMI U.S. plans to unveil designs on a rolling basis, alongside cultural programming, community engagement, and commemorative events connected to its America250 initiative.
Leila Del Mar, Chief Marketing Officer at PMI U.S., said:
“These five artists represent the breadth of creative talent shaping American culture today, from street art to studio craft to fine-art photography. We’re proud to give their work a national platform as part of our America250 initiative, and even prouder of what each of them brings to this moment in the country’s story.”
Rollout Planned for Fall
PMI U.S. will announce release dates for individual case designs in the coming months. The program places work by artists with varied disciplines in a consumer collectible format, creating a national showcase for the selected cohort as the America250 anniversary approaches.
