AWAKE Chocolate has introduced AWAKE Caffeinated Trail Mix, expanding beyond the chocolate aisle with two varieties that each contain 80mg of caffeine and 5 to 6 grams of protein per serving. Available from September 15 in Classic Crunch and Sweet & Salty, the product is designed for consumers seeking a portable snack with the caffeine equivalent of a small cup of coffee. The Canada and U.S.-based brand is pairing the launch with its Take A Hike Breakup Box, a $29.99 kit built around the new trail mix. The promotional package includes a compass, tissues, a hiking sock, a tiny red flag and a luggage tag.

A New Trail Mix Offering

AWAKE Caffeinated Trail Mix combines premium mix-ins with the company’s caffeinated chocolate. Single-serve sleeves start at $2.49, while multipacks start at $9.99, with pricing and availability varying by retailer.

The launch is AWAKE’s largest release outside the chocolate aisle. The product is now available through Amazon, Kroger, The Fresh Market, Fresh Thyme, Compass Foodservice Dining, Canteen and Englefield Oil, with a launch at Wawa scheduled for October.

Breakup Box Promotion

To support the product rollout, consumers can purchase the Take A Hike Breakup Box for a soon-to-be-ex while supplies last. The kit includes AWAKE Caffeinated Trail Mix alongside a themed set of items intended to deliver its message with humor.

The company is offering the box through its Take A Hike campaign page for $29.99.

Expanding Snack Availability

Retail interest in the new trail mix spans grocery, convenience, foodservice, workplace dining and campus dining, according to AWAKE. AWAKE positions the product for occasions when coffee may be inconvenient and an energy drink may be more than a consumer wants.

AWAKE sells caffeinated milk and dark chocolate products across the U.S. through retailers including Amazon, Costco, 7-Eleven, Instacart, Kroger and Wegmans, as well as more than 5,000 convenience locations.
