Lemieux et Cie and Métaphores Open Fragments
Lemieux et Cie and Métaphores open Fragments in SoHo on October 7, featuring textiles across furniture and interiors.

Lemieux et Cie will open Fragments, a new textile installation created with Métaphores, at its SoHo showroom on October 7, 2026. The project marks Métaphores’ first collaboration with a designer-led U.S. showroom and the U.S. debut of the Fragments collection on furniture. The installation will bring the French textile Maison’s fabrics to sofas, chairs, benches, dining chairs, pillows and full-height drapery. It will open at Lemieux et Cie’s 161 Grand Street location in New York.
A Sensory Textile Installation
The partnership grew from the companies’ shared interest in neuroaesthetics, the study of how visual and sensory experience shapes perception. For interiors, the concept considers how material, texture, light, color and proportion influence the experience of a room beyond its visual appearance.
Christiane Lemieux, founder and creative director at Lemieux et Cie, said:
“Neuroaesthetics is giving language to something designers have long sensed by instinct: our experience of a room is not purely visual. Weight, warmth and density all contribute to how a space is perceived and felt. Émilie Paralitici and I realized we’d arrived at that understanding independently, and Fragments brings those ideas together on furniture, at full scale.”
Material and Construction
Métaphores approaches textiles through fiber, material and construction, drawing on the expertise of Verel de Belval in furnishing silks and Le Crin in handwoven horsehair. Lemieux et Cie approaches furniture and interiors through design history and a collector’s point of view.
Fragments combines natural and technical fibers, including wool, cotton and linen, in woven constructions. The collection features bouclé textures, color accents and oversized slub yarns intended to create relief, while individual fabrics are designed to capture, filter or diffuse light.
Émilie Paralitici, creation and image director at Métaphores, said:
“Fragments begins with the material itself, through its grain, density and relationship with light. More than a decorative element, we wanted the collection to express a tangible presence, a new way of inhabiting both interiors and furniture.”
SoHo Launch and Availability
For the launch, Fragments will be installed throughout the SoHo showroom alongside textiles from across Métaphores’ collections. Dedicated displays will offer a closer look at individual fabrics and their construction.
Following the opening, Métaphores fabrics will remain available through Lemieux et Cie for upholstery and interior projects. The showroom will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
