Nobu Plans 50 Room Hotel and Restaurant in San Juan
Nobu Hotel and Restaurant San Juan is set to open in 2028 with 50 rooms, a street-level restaurant and rooftop lounge.

Nobu plans to open Nobu Hotel and Restaurant San Juan in 2028, marking the hospitality brand’s first venture in Puerto Rico. The 50-room luxury hotel will include a signature Nobu restaurant and bar at street level, along with a rooftop lounge and bar. The hotel will bring Nobu’s signature hospitality, cuisine and design philosophy to San Juan. The hotel is intended to reflect the character and heritage of the city while introducing Nobu’s contemporary aesthetic and understated approach to luxury.
A San Juan Debut
The new property will be located in San Juan, a destination known for its centuries of history, distinctive architecture, cultural heritage, dining, galleries and waterfront. Nobu’s plans position the hotel and restaurant as a new hospitality offering within one of the Caribbean’s most recognized historic destinations.
Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality, said:
“Puerto Rico has long been one of the Caribbean's most compelling destinations, celebrated for its rich history, vibrant culture, and exceptional hospitality. Bringing the Nobu Hotel and Restaurant to San Juan allows us to become part of one of the region's most storied neighborhoods while introducing our distinctive approach to hospitality in a destination that continues to attract discerning travelers from around the world.”
Hotel, Dining and Rooftop Plans
Nobu Hotel and Restaurant San Juan will combine accommodations with dining and rooftop venues. The company said guests can expect thoughtfully designed accommodations, intuitive service inspired by the Japanese spirit of omotenashi, world-renowned dining and curated experiences connected to Puerto Rico’s culture and character.
Joakim Lehmkuhl, Managing Partner of KTT, said:
“Few places in the Caribbean combine culture, history, and energy the way San Juan does. Nobu saw the same thing, and that shared understanding is what makes this work.
This reflects the kind of investment we believe the city deserves. Nobu's hotel and restaurant will bring the brand's design, cuisine, and hospitality to San Juan, adding to its reputation as one of the Caribbean's most distinctive destinations.”
A Refined Island Setting
Scheduled for a 2028 opening, the project will blend the energy of San Juan’s old city with the calm, refined atmosphere associated with Nobu destinations. Details on the planned hotel and restaurant are available at Nobu Hotel and Restaurant San Juan.
