HallPass Debuts at Walmart With 70 Calorie Candy
HallPass launches nationwide at Walmart with 70-calorie candy products containing 1g of sugar per serving.

HallPass, a new confectionery brand from Medici Brands, has launched nationwide at Walmart and Walmart.com. Founded by entrepreneurs Peter Rahal and Michael Tierney, the brand enters stores with three products: Peanut Cups, Peanut Creme Crispy Wafers, and Chocolatey Candy Pieces. Each serving contains 70 calories and 1g of sugar. HallPass is positioned alongside classic candy brands on price, targeting consumers who want familiar candy formats with fewer calories and less sugar.
Three Product Launch
HallPass is the newest brand from Medici Brands, the consumer product company behind David Protein. Its initial lineup focuses on full-sized candy products designed to deliver the taste, texture, and experience of classic candy.
The company’s founders built the brand around the view that consumers still want candy, while seeking alternatives to the nutritional tradeoffs associated with conventional options.
A New Candy Proposition
The launch draws a comparison with diet soda products that retained a familiar consumer experience while changing their nutritional profile. HallPass aims to apply that proposition to the confectionery aisle without a premium price.
Michael Tierney, Co-Founder of HallPass, said:
“Our ambition is to make HallPass the Coke Zero of candy. People still love candy. They just don't want to make the same tradeoffs to eat it. We built HallPass to deliver the taste and experience of classic candy for a fraction of the calories and sugar, without asking consumers to pay a premium for it. You don't pay more for Coke Zero than classic Coke, but somehow all low sugar and low calorie candies charge a multiple of the national brands. That needed to change.”
Nationwide Availability
HallPass is now available at Walmart stores nationwide, on Walmart.com and through HallPassCandy.com. The company launched in 2026 as part of Medici Brands, alongside David Protein.
