Buswell Press has announced that Six Weeks: A Literary Memoir, William Ledbetter’s debut memoir, has received five book-award honors within weeks of its June 2026 publication. The latest recognition is a 2026 Literary Titan Gold Book Award. The book has also earned a gold award from the Manhattan Book Awards, a PenCraft Book Award for Best Nonfiction-Autobiography, a silver medal from the Living Now Book Awards, and runner-up recognition at the New York Book Festival. The early awards add to favorable professional reviews for Ledbetter’s first book.
Five Awards in Weeks
The 2026 Literary Titan Book Awards named Six Weeks a Gold Award recipient. The memoir’s other honors include the 2026 Manhattan Book Awards Gold Winner designation, the 2026 PenCraft Book Awards Winner recognition for Best Nonfiction-Autobiography, and a 2026 Living Now Book Awards Silver Medal in Grieving/Death/Dying.
The book was also named a Memoir Runner-Up at the 2026 New York Book Festival. Its review record includes a GET IT recommendation from Kirkus Reviews, a RECOMMENDED designation from The US Review of Books, a five-star review from Literary Titan, and five separate five-star editorial reviews from Readers’ Favorite. BlueInk Review and Independent Book Review have also published positive editorial assessments.
A Family Story
Six Weeks centers on the final six weeks of Ledbetter’s sister Nancy’s life after metastatic breast cancer spread to her brain and she entered hospice. The narrative moves through generations of family history while examining sibling relationships, caregiving, responsibility, loss, faith and reconciliation.
William Ledbetter, author of Six Weeks: A Literary Memoir, said:
“I wrote Six Weeks first and foremost to preserve the story my sister Nancy and I shared. I never imagined my first book would receive this level of recognition so quickly. What has moved me most is seeing readers connect our story with people and experiences from their own lives.”
From Problem Solving to Grace
A longtime business and technology executive and former CPA, Ledbetter brings a problem solver’s instincts to the memoir. The book examines the point at which practical responsibilities meet circumstances that cannot be changed, finding room for family memory, humor and ordinary acts of care.
Buswell Press, the Mount Arlington, New Jersey independent publishing imprint, published Six Weeks: A Literary Memoir in June 2026. The publisher focuses on narrative nonfiction and literary work exploring memory, family, responsibility and the human experiences that connect generations.
