Tomorrow.Blue Economy World Congress will return to Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue from November 3 to 5, bringing together city ports, public administrations, international organizations, research centers, companies and startups. The three-day event will focus on strategies for positioning oceans as drivers of sustainable economic development. Its 2026 program includes three conference tracks, a startup showcase and activities organized by Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa. The congress will be held alongside Smart City Expo World Congress, Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress, Barcelona Deep Tech Summit and Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress.

Three Conference Programs

The program will feature Smart Ports: Piers of the Future, the Global Blue Finance Summit and the Sustainable Ocean Summit. Speakers include Allyson Beach, Blue Acceleration Adviser at the World Ocean Council; Chris Ninnes, CEO of the Aquaculture Stewardship Council; and Emma Cobos, Director of Innovation and Blue Economy at the Port de Barcelona.

Smart Ports: Piers of the Future will bring together ports, startups, companies and investors to address challenges in the port and maritime sector and promote innovative solutions. The Global Blue Finance Summit and Sustainable Ocean Summit, both organized by the World Ocean Council, will connect investors with scalable blue economy opportunities and provide a forum for businesses, experts and governments focused on deployment of the blue economy and ocean protection.

Barcelona Strategy Activities

Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, will organize activities under the city’s new Blue Economy Strategy. The program will connect corporations and startups, explore skills and training trends across the sector, and facilitate connections between talent and companies.

The event will also include the Ocean Innovation Hub, a dedicated startup area for emerging blue economy companies from around the world to showcase their projects. Oceanovation, a partner of the World Ocean Council, will manage the space.

A Forum For Blue Economy Growth

TBEWC is organized with support from Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa; the Port of Barcelona; the World Ocean Council; Oceanovation; and Smart Ports: Piers of the Future, an initiative of the Port Authority of Barcelona. The gathering offers a focused venue for public and private sector organizations working across ports, finance, research and entrepreneurship to discuss opportunities in the blue economy.
