What is TM?

It is a simple, natural, effortless technique practiced 20 minutes twice a day while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. It’s not a religion, philosophy or lifestyle. Over six million people have learned it — of all ages, cultures, and religions.

Research at a glance

Hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific studies have been conducted on the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation technique at more than 200 independent universities and research institutions worldwide over the past 40 years. This includes research funded by nearly $30 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health and US Department of Defense.

How is TM different?

Contrary to popular belief, different meditation techniques deliver different results – as demonstrated by a large body of over 50 years of research performed on different techniques. Transcendental Meditation differs from other meditation techniques in three important ways: It involves no concentration nor control of the mind, boasts the highest quality research results and offers a standardized course of instruction to ensure maximum results.
